I took a couple of weeks off in May 06 to do a spot of road biking. I wanted to see if it is really that hard (Yes, it is) and to do some sight seeing in France (jolly big country, you know). So I cycled mostly in the Vercors with with Phil from Gastrobiking (he is part mountain goat, part homing pigeon and a damn fine host) with a wee bit of Italy (watching the Giro) and then some Provencal sunshine. I'm afraid there follow some photos of men in lycra. You've been warned.
On the way down from Col du Mont Noir, we stopped at Presles because there is a beautiful auberge there, where we wanted to stop for a nice meal to reward ourselves for a week of hard riding. And here is the beautiful auberge. And it was shut. 1pm in the afternoon...does anyone ever do any work round here?
